Person of Interest - The Complete Second SeasonThe Second Season of Person of Interest brings new numbers for Reese (Jim Caviezel) and Finch (Michael Emerson) to save, the resurrection of Reese’s old partner Kara Stanton (Annie Parisse), a plot against The MachineFusco‘s (Kevin Chapman) past coming back to haunt him, hard choices for Carter (Taraji P. Henson), the return of several recurring characters including Root (Amy Acker), Zoe Morgan (Paige Turco), and Elias (Enrico Colantoni) as well as the introduction of the constantly endangered Leon (Ken Leung) and Sarah Shahi as the lovely (and deadly) Samantha Shaw.

Highlights of the season include the introduction of Samantha Shaw, the conclusion of the First Season cliffhanger, the race to find The Machine, protecting an investigative reporter (Gloria Votsis) without giving credence to her story about the man in the suit, helping a cardiologist (Dennis Boutsikaris) with less than 24-hours left to live, and the search for a serial killer during a storm.

Other episodes include proving the innocence of a computer executive (Tracie Thoms) framed for corporate espionage, struggling to keep an erratic tech billionaire (Jimmi Simpson) alive, Reese being arrested, preventing a wealthy husband (Mark Pellegrino) and wife (Francie Swift) intent on killing each other, and saving a surgeon (Sharon Leal) blackmailed into killing her patient.

With the return of Acker and Turco and the addition of Shahi the show continues to build on an already strong supporting cast (most of whom will be returning in some capacity next season) as well as push the regular characters in new directions as Carter suffers loss and makes hard choices to save the lives of Fusco and Elias. We also see far more about the creation of The Machine and the relationship between Finch and Nathan Ingram (Brett Cullen) and their falling out which costs Ingram his life and puts Finch on an entirely new path at the cost of his best friend and his fiance (Carrie Preston).

The six-disc set includes all 22 episodes, a featurette on an average 24-hour period for the show’s production, a gag reel, and audio commentary by executive producers Jonah Nolan and Greg Plageman, and director Richard Lewis for the season finale.
