Ben Affleck is Batman!?

The big news of the last 24-hours is the casting of Ben Affleck as Batman in DC’s proposed 2015 Batman vs. Superman film. Let’s just say fan reaction has been mixed (see more inside). Affleck previously stared in Marvel’s much-maligned Daredevil (which I will still defend, especially to those who argue Hulk is a good comic book movie), and by taking the role he also becomes the first actor I can think of to play both Batman and Superman (Hollywoodland). My biggest concern is with DC and Warner Bros. choosing a 41 year-old actor to help start an action franchise. But, hey, there’s every chance we may see Matt Damon as Robin, right? Maybe not.

I was blown away by this. Thought it had to be a joke.

I, too, am a defender of (most of) Daredevil. But I don’t think this will work. And I’m content to let it fail as I have basically been a Marvel “true believer” for the last few years.

The Ultron pic is great.
