Death's Game - Death

The opening episode of Death’s Game introduces us to Choi Yi-jae (Seo In-guk) who commits suicide after years of frustration of not being able to make something of his life. After he dies, he finds himself confronted by Death (Park So-dam) who doesn’t take kindly to his actions or his disparagement of her in his suicide note. As punishment, Death will reincarnate Choi Yi-jae into 12 different lives, all about to die, forcing him to experience death over and over again. However, if in any of these lives he can avoid death he will be allowed to live out that person’s life to a natural end.

There’s not a lot of answers in the final issue of Giant Robot Hellboy. With Hellboy unconscious on the floor of the secret cabal who kidnapped him the robot he’s no longer connected to continues to fight being controlled by Hellboy but not Hellboy… um, yeah. The giant robot continues to knock off various monsters on the island. Meanwhile, our intrepid soldier Jian escapes the island thanks to a warning from whatever shared consciousness is powering our Mecha-Hellboy.

The plot of Maggie Moore(s) makes for an intriguing trailer but a deeply flawed movie. The plot involves the death of two different women named Maggie Moore in the same small town exactly one week apart. There are basically two-halves of the story stuck together with scotch tape and a prayer with a romance subplot thrown in as well creating a film with enjoyable moments here and there but more than a few issues it simply can’t overcome.

Leo starts with the same premise of one of my favorite films from one of my favorite years of movies. Joseph Vijay stars as a shop owner who defends his cafe against armed intruders. News of the event, however, brings out even more trouble. First we get the wave of violence from the dead robbers’ friends and family which only draws more attention to the reclusive Parthiban. This brings the attention of a criminal empire who believes this local hero to be a mass murderer known as Leo.
