The opening episode of the six-part Amazon series features a heist of the pension management company Lochmill Capital by a group of armed robbers (Jonathan Slinger, Yusra Warsama, Andrew Howard, Díana Bermudez, Shaun Mason, and Tomisin Ajani) taking control of the entire floor of the skyscraper and forcing through a trade worth four-billion pounds. Filled mostly with chaos and panic, the characters we learn the most about are trade processors Zara Dunne (Sophie Turner) and Luke Selborn (Archie Madekwe) who, after showing the new intern around that morning, are forced into cooperating with the robbers and are instrumental in getting the trade approved.

Muppets Noir #1

An overworked Kermit, a dime-store novel, the mention of pie, and a backstage accident at the Muppet Theater lead to an unconscious Kermit reimagining himself in a noir world as gumshoe Flip Minnow hired by Delores Crustworth: Queen of Pies (food which our amphibian detective has an aversion) to find her missing neice Meringue (Miss Piggy). While on the case we’re introduced to several Muppet mainstays as part of Kermit’s delusion including Fozzie as Officer O’Bear, Rowlf as a piano player in a restaurant that tolerates no noise, and Gonzo as a nightclub act.

Director Martin Brest‘s 1998 remake of Death Takes a Holiday stars Brad Pitt as Death who grants the ridiculously rich Bill Parrish (Anthony Hopkins) a few extra days of life in exchange for letting him stick around in a stolen body and discover what’s so great about life for himself. The body chosen by Death just so happens to be the same man Parrish’s daughter Susan (Claire Forlani) falls for in an earlier scene. Rechristened as Joe Black, who refuses to provide any more information about himself, Joe inserts himself into Parrish’s world causing havoc for Bill and romantic confusion for Susan.
