Elena Federova’s (Morena Baccarin) machinations continue as events in one of the banks lead to uncovering a dark secret of a famous journalist and brings more publicity to the incarcerated criminal who continues to have no trouble leading her complicated scheme from behind bars. In terms of reveals, “Bury the Lede” does provide the first meeting between Val Fitzgerald’s (Ryan Michelle Bathe) husband and Elena and her husband when an undercover assignment goes sideways. It also suggests that Elena has been looking for a way to win Val to her side for quite a long time, and that Val may have a very large role to play in Elena’s still yet to come.

Taking his daughter (Chloe Csengery) and a group of kids sailing takes an unexpected turn for Jesse (Noah Mills) when their boat his hijacked by well-organized pirates. Managing to get out a distress call and focus the Navy and Coast Guard on finding the boat, an injured Jesse will spend most of the episode hunting down the mercenaries on a small island, making use of some low-key survival skills (sort of Rambo-lite) while working to rescue his daughter and catch the bad guys before they can make off with their prize.

Elektra: Black, White & Blood #2

/ / Comics

Elektra: Black, White & Blood #2 offers three more tales of Marvel’s most famous assassin in white, black, and plenty of red. While there is no break-out tale in the issue, we do get three solid stories featuring the character in different locales.

“Cut and Run” finds Elektra in Madripoor where Patch puts the assassin onto Joon, a woman of the evening who has fallen in with a dangerous assassin who isn’t too keen on her aborting what he believes to be his unborn child.

In “Verité” a couple of New York Police Detectives work to try to solve the murder of a witness against the Kingpin who was killed so quickly that the murder wasn’t caught on camera (funny, I didn’t know Elektra was a speedster?). And in “Yokai,” set in Japan, Elektra fights a legendary creature who has stolen a small child.

And now there are two. When Tom Kullersen (Jeremy Shada) sneaks away to spend time with his dragon, who earns the name Thunder in this episode, Jun (Ashley Liao) follows him discovering the hidden world below only to get trapped in a crystal chamber. To escape, she’ll need to make a connection with a two-headed dragon who will eventually accept her as its dragon rider. Mostly centered around Jun and her dragon, and Tom and Thunder fighting off some Gembreakers, other characters only make token appearances her including Alex (Aimee Garcia) who finds a way go get Tom outside the perimeter without setting off the alarms.

The Book of Grogu – From the Desert Comes a Stranger

  • Title: The Book of Boba Fett – Chapter 6: From the Desert Comes a Stranger
  • wiki: link

For the second episode in a row, an episode of The Book of Boba Fett is largely hijacked for a story setting up a Second Season of The Mandalorian. This time, rather than follow Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) on a job we get the Mandalorian’s arrival at the Jedi Temple in search of Grogu and the young apprentice training with Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). Where the last episode belonged to the Mandalorian, this one belongs to Grogu who must decide if he will stay and complete his training as a Jedi or return to his life with the Mandalorian. I have seen the argument made that this second appearance cheapens Luke’s appearance in The Mandalorian, and there is certainly a case to be made. However, the larger complaint is that it doesn’t really fit on The Book of Boba Fett.
