Throwback Thursday takes us back into the Cold War spycraft of Danger Man. John Drake (Patrick McGoohan) rescues two British citizens from an unnamed Arab nation facing a revolution. Choosing to remain when he hears of another English woman nearby, and knowing she won’t be safe from the rebel troops, Drake seeks out nurse Mary MacPherson (Eileen Moore) only to discover she has in her possession a small baby and the last living member of the deposed royal family. Unable to reach the helicopter, Drake and MacPherson must try to make their way on their own, a journey that leads them across an unscrupulous innkeeper (Eric Pohlmann) and a greedy local leader (Harold Kasket) looking to use the child to increase his own power.

Young Justice #19 comic reviewYoung Justice #19 offers a Wonder Girl issue as Cassie’s grandfather Zeus returns hoping to prompt her to accept the role required of her within the Pantheon and move away from her Earthly connections. Zeus appeared earlier in the series, laying the foundation for Cassie’s conflict trying to balance her responsibilities on Earth as well as Olympus. This time around, she’ll need to fight off mythic monsters and gods proving the comic’s two action sequences.

First she fights off Aegaeon, who she mistakes for being a lesson sent by Zeus, and later an army led by Poseidon who is actually behind everything and attempting to seize more power in the realms of the gods. Cassie gets a bit of help in each battle, as Zeus gives her the Harpe Sword to fight Aegaeon and her friends have her back when Poseidon comes calling.

Mystery, Inc. doesn’t need to go in search of a mystery in “A Night of Fright is No Delight” as they walk into one when Scooby (Don Messick) is included in the will of an eccentric millionaire. All Scooby, and the dead man’s relatives, must do to collect the money is stay in the house over night. It doesn’t take long for Scooby to start believing the stories of the creepy old mansion being haunted are true as he encounters the first of two Phantom Shadows.

Gotham City District Attorney Sam Young (Paul Winfield) becomes the target of Curaré (Melissa Disney), the most lethal member of the Society of Assassins who has never failed to eliminate a target. Helping Sam’s chances at survival is the fact the his wife is Commissioner Barbara Gordon (Stockard Channing) who go to great lenghths to keep him alive and will reveal her relationship with the Bat-Family to Terry (Will Friedle) while warning Batman to stay away from police business.

Today’s Throwback Thursday takes us back to the animated streets of Metropolis and a hero who can leap tall buildings in a single bound. “Solar Power” opens with a prison break as Edward Lytener (Robert Hays) escapes Stryker’s Prison with new tech and a new plan to take down Superman (Tim Daly). Now calling himself Luminus, Lytener uses satellites around Metropolis to filter the sun’s rays making the sun appear red. Part of the genius of the plan is that the villain instigates it during a period of stormy weather with dark gray skies leading to Superman unknowingly slowly weakening without the yellow sun’s rays to replenishing him. Once the clouds part, it becomes obvious what the villain has done.
