Danger Man - The Honeymooners television review

Our Throwback Tuesday post takes us back into the Cold War spycraft of Danger Man. John Drake (Patrick McGoohan) is sent to small island nation in the Far East when a couple’s honeymoon getaway ends in murder. With the husband (Ronald Allen) jailed and facing execution, Drake attempts to pry details from the uncooperative bride (Sally Bazely) about the unfortunate night when a local man was shot while mistakenly entering their motel room. Not helping matters is the fact that the husband has become a pawn in the political maneuverings of both the country’s President (Michael Peake) and the Minister of Justice (Lee Montague).

Supergirl - Will The Real Miss Tessmacher Please Stand Up? TV review

The latest episode continues the team-up of Kara (Melissa Benoist) and Lena (Katie McGrath) as the pair head to Kaznia to investigate the evil plans of Lex Luthor (Jon Cryer). Not only will they find multiple versions of Eve (Andrea Brooks), thanks to Lex playing with super-hero powers, but they also uncover Luthor’s big secret in the “Red Daughter.” There are at least three separate moments in “Will The Real Miss Tessmacher Please Stand Up?” where Kara not only could have told Lena her secret but should have. There can be little doubt at this point that Lena will learn the truth from someone other than Kara likely splintering their friendship and pushing her down the super-villain/nemesis road, although for now they appear to be solidly together in the hunt for Lex and the other Supergirl.

Whiskey Cavalier - Good Will Hunting television review

I never expected Emma’s (Ophelia Lovibond) stint on the show to last all that long, but “Good Will Hunting” surprised me in the finality of her exit. I’m sad to see Lovibond go as I enjoyed Emma and Will (Scott Foley) together. Her death is put to good use here as it propels Will into a more brutal version of himself as the group hunts for his girlfriend’s killer. At first Frankie (Lauren Cohan) loves the new version of her partner, fitting much more with her own outlook on life, right up until the point where she discovers just how much work it is to keep a loose canon from going off and causing all kinds of collateral damage.

The Flash - Gone Rogue television review

Turns out even suped-up on negative Speed Force energy, Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) still struggles to fit into the villain mold. Having returned from the future, but hiding from her family, Nora enlists the help of villains to acquire a piece of cutting-edge technology that could finally stop Cicada (Sarah Carter). For her recruits she chooses Rag Doll (Troy James), Brie Larvan (Emily Kinney), and the Weather Witch (Reina Hardesty). While Barry (Grant Gustin) and Iris (Candice Patton) continue to struggle to come to a consensus about what to do with their daughter, Nora uses her knowledge of Star Labs to abduct a couple of hostages to help put her plans in motion.

Shadowhunters - City of Glass television review

Setting up next week’s series finale, “City of Glass” features a last-ditch plan by Jace (Dominic Sherwood), Alec (Matthew Daddario), and Isabelle (Emeraude Toubia) to break Clary (Katherine McNamara) from Jonathan‘s (Luke Baines) sway. While successful in breaking the toxic bond between the siblings, the Shadowhunters are too late to stop Jonathan from retrieving the Morning Star Sword and using it to create a rift allowing demons to enter the city. While evil Clary is a bit more fun than the regular version, its good to see the character back in control of her faculties heading into the show’s conclusion.
