Charlie's Angels - To Kill an Angel television review

Today’s Throwback Tuesday post takes us back to the tale of three beautiful former police detectives turned private detectives working for a faceless boss known as Charlie. While taking an autistic boy to an amusement park, Kelly (Jaclyn Smith) is accidentally shot by young Skip (Dennis Dimster) after he finds the gun used in a recent murder. As Skip runs off, and an unconscious Kelly is rushed to the hospital, it falls on Jill (Farrah Fawcett), Sabrina (Kate Jackson), and Bosley (David Doyle) to piece together events as they start a search for the traumatized Skip who wanders around the city collecting an assortment of trinkets for his fallen friend (just like in the story Kelly told him). From the outset of Kelly losing Skip at the amusement park and then accidentally get shot, “To Kill an Angel” offers a serious tone throughout. In fact, the only time the Angels crack a smile is when Jill and Sabrina are able to catch one of the killers inside a carnival ride.

Legacies - I'll Tell You a Story TV review

“I’ll Tell You a Story” answers several questions leading into next week’s season finale. While Hope (Danielle Rose Russell) works through her feelings for her boyfriend using a magical prism (which offers most of the more lighthearted scenes from the episode), Landon (Aria Shahghasemi) finally gets some answers as Ryan Clarke (Nick Fink) reveals the truth about Malivore which was once a sentient being created to absorb dragons… and who is the father of both Ryan and Landon. While initially skeptical about both Ryan and his tale, Landon is won over by his story and makes a fateful decision to help restore his father to life.

The Flash - Time Bomb television review

Team Flash may have defeated one Cicada (Chris Klein), but a new one has arrived from the future to continue her uncle’s work. “Time Bomb” reveals the new meta-human killer to be Grace Gibbons (Sarah Carter) who has a lifetime of hatred boiling inside her, and her first target is the meta-human (Catherine Lough Haggquist) responsible for her parents’ death. I’ve always like Carter, and her casting helps lessen the disappointing blow that the Cicada storyline is going to continue further into the season after it had apparently finally reached a merciful end. However, the episode’s subplot involving Sherloque Wells‘ (Tom Cavanagh) unraveling Nora‘s (Jessica Parker Kennedy) secret thankfully looks to take precedence for at least the short term.

Bull - Parental Guidance television review

The latest client for Bull (Michael Weatherly) and his associates is a defendant who is admittedly guilty of the crime he is charged with. A teenager (C.J. Valleroy) who lived nearly his entire life in isolation with his paranoid survalist father is left on his own after his father his killed and he is arrested for shooting at a police officer and social worker who were trespassing on thier property. To win over the jury, Benny (Freddy Rodríguez) works to convince the jury that young man was ignorant of the consequences of his actions, but to win the case they will have to prove just the opposite. “Parental Guidance” offers a clever late twist that rather than sink the lawyers’ case, actually offers them a new avenue to explore and not only get justice for their client but provide for a future for a young man lost in the new world he finds himself in without his father.

The Umbrella Academy - The Day That Wasn't / The Day That Was TV review

We get alternate versions of the same day in back-to-back episodes, but because the focus of each episode is different not much repeats, although the family ticking off Vanya (Ellen Page), once again by excluding her, remains a constant. After a brief look at Klaus‘ (Robert Sheehan) time in Vietnam, much of “The Day That Wasn’t” focuses on Number 5‘s (Aidan Gallagher) new job with the Temps Commission as the bides his time, and puts out a couple of poison pills which force Cha Cha (Mary J. Blige) and Hazel (Cameron Britton) into difficult decisions, before bombing the fuck out of the commission and heading back home with a lead.
