Set a few years after the events of “Twilight of the Apprentice,” Star Wars Rebels begins its Third Season with an older Ezra (Taylor Gray) leading missions for the Rebellion, a blinded Kanan (Freddie Prinze Jr.) spending most of his days in seclusion, and the Empire bringing in new resources to deal with the Rebel threat by enlisting the assistance of Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen). For the first time in the series the Rebels will be pitted against an Imperial officer willing to play the long game and not fall for the Rebels’ usual tricks. Star Wars #22

Star Wars #22One of the few issues to of Marvel’s Star Wars title giving us the big three all working together, Star Wars #22 features the Rebellion’s heist of an Imperial Star Destroyer under the guise of blowing up the ship and all hands on-board. Kreel and his new squad of elite Stormtroopers, we’ll have to wait at least another month to discover how the two plot threads are woven together over the next few issues and just what the Rebels plan to do with their new toy.
