Our Throwback Tuesday post takes us back into the Cold War spycraft of Danger Man. John Drake (Patrick McGoohan) is sent to small island nation in the Far East when a couple’s honeymoon getaway ends in murder. With the husband (Ronald Allen) jailed and facing execution, Drake attempts to pry details from the uncooperative bride (Sally Bazely) about the unfortunate night when a local man was shot while mistakenly entering their motel room. Not helping matters is the fact that the husband has become a pawn in the political maneuverings of both the country’s President (Michael Peake) and the Minister of Justice (Lee Montague).

The death of a British diplomat, disguised as a suicide attempt, sends John Drake (Patrick McGoohan) to a small island off the coast of Brittany where the diplomat’s wife (Patricia Driscoll) continues to work to expose the corruption behind her husband’s murder while holed up in the ruins of the islands castle with her two young children. Unable to convince Lady Lindsay to escape with him, Drake pretends to leave the island but sticks around to prevent another assassination.

John Drake‘s (Patrick McGoohan) first vacation in four years is interrupted before it ever gets started when Drake recognizes the man seated next to him on the plane to Nice is a well-known assassin (Hugh McDermott). After waylaying the killer-for-hire in the hotel, Drake assumes the man’s role and travels to a home outside the city where he awaits confirmation on the target who is identified to be the the niece (Jacqueline Ellis) of his wealthy host (Esmond Knight).

Our Throwback Tuesday post takes us back into the Cold War spycraft of Danger Man. With the assassination of the Italian Minister, Drake (Patrick McGoohan) comes to the conclusion that there is an underground murder network taking out high valued targets for the right price. All seven of the victims have been shot in the back but otherwise there is no connection between the killings as the victims have all have various national and political ties. Believing the best opportunity to discover the network is to pose as a potential client, Drake goes in undercover as a man with an enemy needing to be silenced.

Danger Man - The Girl Who Liked G.I.'s TV review

Our Throwback Tuesday post takes us back into the Cold War spycraft of Danger Man. Drake (Patrick McGoohan) looks into the murder of a U.S. soldier on leave in Munich who had knowledge of a secret missile project. Retracing the dead man’s final day in the city which leads him to assume the role of a soldier himself and get a date with the local woman (Anna Gaylor) who was the last person to see the soldier alive. While initially suspicious of her, especially after he is attacked by two men following their date, Drake soon discovers the woman has nothing to hide (other than a disapproving father and a weakness for American soldiers). It turns out the soldier’s death has nothing to do with the girl, or the soldier’s top secret clearance, but only with a single photograph the man took around the city that someone is willing to kill for.
