The new LEGO Star Wars special begins at the end of Star Wars, following the destruction of the first Death Star as the Rebel forces scatter and head to Hoth, Darth Vader rendezvous with the Imperial Fleet, and Luke, Han, and Leia make an unexpected side trip to Naboo to search for a hidden Stormtrooper base.

Not all is rosy for our heroes as Chewbacca and C-3PO try to make the best out of being left behind, Luke is mobbed by his new fans, and Darth Vader is less than pleased by the unexpected arrival of Darth Maul who shows up to help Vader and the Emperor build the new Death Star. There’s plenty of LEGO fun as Vader gets jumped and nearly sold by Jawas, Darth Maul crafts the new Death Star in his likeness, and Vader finally gets his own awards ceremony.

Although mostly fluff and cute jokes, the special does give us Anthony Daniels voicing C-3PO, Han shooting first, lots of Stormtroopers and Tie-Fighters being shot down, and where else are you going to see Darth Vader and Darth Maul together? Fans of the LEGO Star Wars brand should have some fun.
