Street Hawk - Vegas Run television review

Throwback Tuesday takes us back in time to when a motorcycle cop turned vigilante helped keep the streets of Los Angeles safe on an experimental bike known as Street Hawk. Jesse (Rex Smith) and Norman (Joe Regalbuto) try to protect a Las Vegas showgirl (Sybil Danning) from her ex-boyfriend (Christopher Thomas) and his goons who will stop at nothing, including kidnapping her sister (Christie Mossman), to prevent her from testifying against him. The main story is notable for Danning’s character making Norman uncomfortable and Jesse thoroughly confusing Lt. Cmdr. Altobelli (Richard Venture) on how a federal witness wound up staying at his apartment. The action scenes showcase Street Hawk going off-road (somehow without running into any of those pesky trees at super-speed) and fighting of a helicopter to get the witness to the courthouse in time.

Street Hawk - A Second Self television review

Throwback Tuesday takes us back in time to when a motorcycle cop turned vigilante helped keep the streets of Los Angeles safe on an experimental bike known as Street Hawk. The show’s second episode guest-stars George Clooney as Jesse’s (Rex Smith) old racing buddy Kevin Stark. While Norman Tuttle (Joe Regalbuto) can see the obvious bond between the former racers, he’s not too happy with the competitive nature Stark brings out in Jesse (or the reckless abandon Stark takes to win a private race between the pair). At the same time the head of auto theft ring (Robert Lipton) who blames Street Hawk for the death of his brother, reaches outside the state for a driver capable of helping take down the vigilante once and for all.

Street Hawk - Pilot television review

Throwback Tuesday takes us back in time to when a motorcycle cop turned vigilante helped keep the streets of Los Angeles safe on an experimental bike known as Street Hawk. Created by those who apparently thought Knight Rider and Airwolf were too realistic, Street Hawk introduces us to motorcycle cop Jesse Mach (Rex Smith) who is injured, and whose partner (Robert Beltran) is killed, in the “Pilot.” Reassigned to desk duty as part of the Police Deartment’s public relations office, Mach is also secretly recruited for a top secret project by the Norman Tuttle (Joe Regalbuto) to test-drive his experimental motorcycle known as Street Hawk. The reckless Mach is far from Tuttle’s first choice, and Mach takes some convincing to agree to the project (experimental surgery to repair his damaged knee is certainly a selling point), but by the end of the show’s first episode the odd couple find a way to work together.
