From the folks at Pixar comes this Short Circuit-like tale (he even looks like Johnny Number 5) of a robot out to discover the meaning of life in the far future after humanity has abandoned the planet.  Although there are several small roles in the film most of the “dialogue” will be done by sound designer Ben Burtt in an R2-D2 kinda’ way.  Check out the official site.  The search begins in theaters on Friday.

After the death of his father Wesley Gibson (James McAvoy) is recruited by a league of assassins to follow in his footsteps.  Loosely based on the comic mini-series of the same name (check backThursday for our review of the graphic novel!), the film also stars Morgan Freeman, Angelina Jolie, Terrence Stamp, Common, and Kristen Hager.  Check out the official site.  We’ve seen it and we’ll have the review when the killing begins everywhere on Friday.

Matthew Broderick stars as a former addict and compulsive gambler who travels to Las Vegas to put his niece (Brittany Snow), a drugged-out prostitute, into rehab in hopes of earning himself back into his wife’s (Maura Tierney) good graces.  So… it’s a family film?  Heh.  Check out the official site.
