Human Target - Tanarak television review

Throwback Tuesday takes us back to another episode from the First Season of Human Target. “Tanarak” follows the basic structure with Chance (Mark Valley) out to protect a beautiful, smart, and talented woman from those who would do her harm. In this case the woman is Dr. Jessica Shaw (Moon Bloodgood) who has gotten on the bad side of the remote mining community where she practices by looking too closely into the unexplained death of one of their workers. Given the truth could expose the company to millions in litigation, they will do whatever it takes to wipe out the good doctor before any of this sees the light of day.

Human Target - Corner Man television review

Throwback Tuesday takes us back to another episode from the First Season of Human Target. By the time it got to “Corner Man” Human Target was running on all cylinders. The show had found the right combination of humor, action, and a beautiful guest-star. Helping out a fighter (Dash Mihok) who got in over his head, Chance (Mark Valley) makes a deal with an old enemy (Kenneth Welsh), calls in a favor with a championship boxer, and puts himself in danger in an underground ultimate fighting championship all to take down a crooked promoter (Peter Wingfield). Complicating matters are a case of the yips leaving our hero not fighting at 100% and his distraction with the mark’s right-hand woman (Grace Park) in whom he sees more than a little of himself reflected.

Human Target - Baptiste television review

Throwback Tuesday takes us back to another episode from the First Season of Human Target. “Baptiste” may be my favorite episode of the series, although the final episode of the show’s First Season does give it a run for its money. As the title suggests, the episode marks the first appearance of Christopher Chance‘s (Mark Valley) old friend Baptiste (Lennie James) who arrives in Washington for a high-target assassination. The episode also marks the return (and sadly final appearance) of my favorite recurring guest-star as, needing all the help he can get, Chance turns to FBI Agent Emma Barnes (Emmanuelle Vaugier) to stop Baptise from murdering the delegates of a secret Chinese/Taiwan summit in Georgetown.

“Shut up, Doug.”

Human Target - Salvage & Reclamation television review

“Salvage & Reclamation” may not be my favorite episode of Human Target but the episode has it all in an exotic location, humor, action, and a lovely guest-star with a tie to the past of our mysterious protagonist. Perhaps more than any other episode of the series this one shows the potential of the show’s concept when handled correctly. Called into service by an old flame, Christopher Chance (Mark Valley) heads to South America where he rescues English anthropologist Doug Slocum (Kris Marshall) who has uncovered the location of a plane full of gold which many are willing to kill for. Neither the rescue nor Chance’s reunion go exactly as planned as Chance, Maria (Leonor Varela), and Doug head into the the jungle hunted by the army, drug runners, and a superbly-evil corporate goon (Kim Coates).

Human Target - Lockdown television review

Throwback Tuesday takes us back to another episode from the First Season of Human Target. In “Lockdown” Christopher Chance (Mark Valley) is hired to break a scientist out of a locked private defense contractor facility where Martin Gleason (Kevin Weisman) is being kept against his will to work on a sensitive defense project. While getting in goes exactly to plan, getting both himself and his client out turns out to be far trickier as the pair have to sneak their way through building filled with guards and a high-tech security system determined to find them.
