Warehouse 13 - Buried / Reset television review

Throwback Thursday takes us back to a top-secret storage facility in South Dakota known as Warehouse 13. The two-part Second Season finale offers the discovery of the lost Warehouse 13 and the inevitable betrayal of H.G. Wells (Jaime Murray). Looking the bizarre sudden mummification of college students halfway around the world sends Pete (Eddie McClintock), Myka (Joanne Kelly), Helena, and Valda (Mark Sheppard) in search of the lost Warehouse 2 whose reemergence is slowly destroying Mrs. Frederic‘s (CCH Pounder) connection to the current Warehouse. The first episode features plenty of tomb traps and riddles for the team to decipher, the loss of one of their own, and Helena’s betrayal by grabbing an immensely powerful artifact which could threaten the world. Helena’s quick departure means very little time to search the ancient Warehouse and its contents, but it does allow for Pete to try (and fail) to use a flying carpet and his more successful use of the Wings of Daedalus.

“Reset” sends Pete and Myka after Helena who robs her own daughter’s grave in order to obtain the second piece to an artifact powerful enough to plunge the world into a new Ice Age. Claudia (Allison Scagliotti), still a bit freaked-out at the prospect of being the next Mrs. Fredric, is able to trace Helena’s actions back and discover she’s been planning this since well before being bronzed more than a century ago. Keeping the team off their game, Helena also sends a gift to Kelly (Paula Garcés) effectively putting the final nail in the coffin for Pete’s relationship. While able to talk Helena down from destroying the world, Helena blames herself for the whole sordid affair offering her resignation (which won’t last more than an episode into next season).
