Scorpion - Hard Knox

If the set-up for “Hard Knox” sounds familiar it’s because Scorpion has used nearly the identical template before. Tricked by a government official into what is obviously a very bad idea, Walter (Elyes Gabel) and his team are hired to break into Fort Knox to test out the facility’s security. And yes, despite being tricked into similar circumstances in the past, no one on the team questions the validity of their assignment. Of course while this is going on Walter works out his troubled relationship with Linda (Brooke Nevin) while the show continues to tease the a romance between Paige (Katharine McPhee) and Tim (Scott Porter) that no one (I’m betting this even includes the show’s writers) want to see happen.

Scorpion - Ticker

Walter‘s (Elyes Gabel) latest finder-bender puts Team Scorpion in the right place at the right time in order to diagnosis trouble at the hospital. It seems someone has swapped the barcodes on the blood supply to multiple Los Angeles hospitals tainting the supply by introducing blood carrying a rare and dangerous disease into a small percentage of the blood. While regulations state all surgeries must be put on hold to prevent spreading an infection, Walter and his team race against the clock to find the person responsible and retreive clean blood for a dying young girl (Isabella Crovetti-Cramp) who only has hours to receive a heart transplant.

Scorpion - Fractured

Separated after a large earthquake, Scorpion sets out to save the city from a gas build-up and potential explosion. With the rest of the team spending most of the episode working to save a trapped family, a visually-impaired Sylvester (Ari Stidham) and Ralph (Riley B. Smith) race to turn off the city’s gas a the source.

Scorpion - Da Bomb

Brought in by NASA and their old nemesis Merrick (David Fabrizio) to fix their top secret rocket before launch, Scorpion runs into a conflict of interest when Walter‘s (Elyes Gabel) date from the previous evening shows up in their offices wearing a bomb vest and carrying a recording ordering Scorpion to make sabotage the rocket, or else. Brooke Nevin returns from her previous cameo as the host of the speed dating service (where apparently she didn’t get a good enough look at Walter’s “skills” to know just how terrible he’d be at dating). Although the pair part as friends at the end of the episode, I’m pleased that it doesn’t appear the writers have any interest in bringing her back as part of a love triangle between Walter and Paige (Katharine McPhee).

Scorpion - Sun of a Gun

Jeff Fahey shows up as Sylvester‘s estranged father (Ari Stidham) to enlist Scorpion to track down a rumored, but never seen, Axis weapon developed during WWII. The “Sun Gun” would use a satellite to turn the sun’s rays into a weapon of concentrated white-hot light. Sly’s dad has been hunting for the weapon his entire career and now believes it has been found and is finally being put into play by an African dictator (Hakeem Kae-Kazim) with dangerous plans for the rest of the world.
