Preacher - Mumbai Sky Tower television review

“Mumbai Sky Tower” offers the return of, and sadly also the final farewell to, Fiore (Tom Brooke). With questions about the mysterious cowboy who continues to track the threesome, Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), Tulip (Ruth Negga), and Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) head to Las Vegas to find the former angel now using his abilities as the magician of a Las Vegas casino. While I’m sad to see Fiore exit stage left, the episode is a terrific send-off for the character who in his depression commits suicide every single night to the delight of vacationers and Vegas locals. It’s also a nice change-of-pace to see Cassidy in an useful way for a change. The scenes between the pair work well, but also help reinforce to Fiore just what he has lost. Given another opportunity, I’m betting Jesse would like to rephrase the words he leaves him with.

Preacher - On the Road television review

After a First Season which was mostly a prequel to the comic book series of the same name by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, Preacher returns with Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), Tulip (Ruth Negga), and Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) hitting the road in search of the missing God. More in-tune with the nihilistic 90s comic series which spawned it, which is both good and potentially bad for the series going forward, the season premiere begins the long road trip for our unlikely threesome while also introduces a new threat in the Saint of Killers (Graham McTavish) who hunts down the preacher and is willing to kill anyone who gets in his way.

Preacher - The Complete First SeasonAdapted from the comic book series of the same name by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, the First Season of AMC’s Preacher acts as a prequel of sorts to the story of small town Texas preacher Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper) and his struggles after being granted a mysterious force known as Genesis.

Filled with killer angels, odd locals, vampires, crazy ex-girlfriends, and even crazier slaughterhouse owners, the First Season of Preacher proves to be a bizarre, but entertaining, ride. Highlights include an insane motel battle between Jesse, the angels, and a near-unstoppable seraphim, Jesse being tempted by revenge, the introduction of Jackie Earle Haley, the exploration of Jesse’s childhood, and Jesse’s stand-off with Odin’s men.

While avoiding the law, Tulip (Ruth Negga) brings the Preacher face-to-face with the man who ruined their lives. Meanwhile, Hugo (W. Earl Brown) takes his anger and frustration out on Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) hoping to find satisfaction and answers about Euguene‘s (Ian Colletti) disappearance. Preacher - Finish the Song

While Jesse (Dominic Cooper) hides out from the law and buys himself time for his big Sunday sermon, Tulip (Ruth Negga) and Emily (Lucy Griffiths) help nurse Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) back to full strength. Tulip’s idea to feed the vampire animals from the local pet shop is a rather ingenious plan, but it’s Emily’s actions involving the Mayor (Ricky Mabe) which prove surprising. Sacrificing the needy Miles to a vampire she doesn’t particularly like is a momentous choice for Emily, and one that may well haunt her for many episodes to come. As for Tulip, the experience inspires her to stop waiting for her revenge.
